The Tory County Council want to cut all financial support from An-Lac House, totalling £42,000 per year.
The residents will suffer the consequences of this gratuitous vandalism. The Council are proposing inadequate support arrangements to replace the current service. “Flying” care workers will dash in and out, their “performance targets” meaning that they will be unable to spend sufficient time with residents. And those workers will not share or understand the residents’ language or culture.
The consequences will soon be plain to see. Vulnerable elderly residents will become isolated and depressed. And when the inevitable crises occur, even more pressure will be put onto already stretched social and health care services.
